Sir Elton Hercules John, CBE was born on 25 March 1947 and is an English singer-songwriter, composer and pianist. Due to the collaboration since 1967 with Bernie Taupin, who is considered to be his songwriting partner more than 30 albums have already been released.
In Elton's 4-decade career was sold more than 250,000,000 records, which makes him one of the most famous and successful artists all over the world in the musical history. By the way, the best selling single in Billboard history is John's composition "Candle in the Wind 1997" which has been sold over 33,000,000 copies worldwide. In Elton John's discography is more than 50 Top 40 hits, which include nine singles in Top 1. Also, he is a winner of 6 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Tony Award.
In 1994 the musician was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. John's been involved in the fight against AIDS. On 21 December 2005 he started his relationships with David Furnish. In 2008, Billboard magazine gave him the third place in the nomination of the most successful male solo artist on "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists".
