Independence Bowl 2010 will have the Air Force Falcons for sure, as they have already officially accepted an invitation to represent the Mountain West couple of weeks ago week. The ACC tie-in, despite the fact that now it is a very cloudy picture, due to a 3-way tie for the 3rd place in the conference, considering that 4 teams tied with 4-4 conference records.
Apparently the Yellow Jackets could turn out to be in the Independence Bowl to take on the Air Force Falcons, due to their neighbourhood (i.e. physical proximity) to the bowl's site, Shreveport, Louisiana. Buy the cheapest tickets on their game at Independence Stadium which will take place on December 27th.
Air Force Falcons had an appropriate year in the Mountain West, the Falcons had closed the year with 3 straight wins after a stumble with the following smooth stretch vs. TCU, Utah and San Diego State.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had collapsed to a 6-6 general record and closed this year with a disillusioning loss to Georgia in their traditional competition game. Despite the struggle of the Yellow Jackets I don't think they will lose to a Mountain West team, particularly to the Falcons.
