New Orleans Bowl: Ohio Bobcats v. Troy Trojans

New Orleans Bowl has been played annually at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans since 2001. It is a post-season college football bowl game certified by the NCAA.

The game pits a team from the USA Conference against the champions of the Sun Belt Conference.

We are waiting for the Ohio Bobcats from the MAC conference to do battle with the Troy Trojans from the Sun Belt conference in the New Orleans Bowl on Saturday night, December 18, 2010 in prime time.

Ohio ended their regular season with a loss which eliminated them from the MAC championship. The team is quite fortunate to make the postseason after losing its regular-season finale at Kent State and failing to make the MAC Championship game. The team’s success can be attributed to its success in the red zone, ranking fourth in touchdown percentage inside the 20 yard line, while scoring an 88 percent of its trips.

It will be Troy’s third trip to the New Orleans Bowl and they completed the regular season with a share of the Sun Belt Conference championship. The Trojans have posted a 14-10 all-time record in games played in December and the defense will need to improve greatly in order to gain another victory.

The Trojans and Bobcats have never met in football, although the coaches have squared off three times.
